Who We Are
HR Connections began its journey in the HR services sector of Bangladesh in January 2006. Our parent company, Rapport Bangladesh Limited, has been in this business since January 1972 (officially registered as the first Bangladeshi company after Independence on January 12, 1972).
The first head hunting assignment undertaken by Rapport Bangladesh Limited was in 1975 and since then they have placed hundreds of competent professionals in various positions. Driven by the entrepreneurial spirit of Rapport’s founding Chairman and Managing Director – Dr M Mosharraf Hossain, Rapport mostly concentrated on the senior levels of corporate Bangladesh. Among notable CEO/COO/CCO positions placed by Rapport: Reckitt Coleman (twice), Singer Bangladesh, various units of Beximco, IDE, ACI, Berger Paints, Banglalink, among many others.
However, we also recognized that the size of the service industry in Bangladesh was expanding at a much faster rate than expected. In late 2005, a decision was reached to separate the HR Services side of the business and HR Connections was born. The aim of the organization would be to capture new market, which meant that the sole concentration couldn’t be just on the senior levels but recruitment at all levels. Also, HR Connections would have to add new services such as Contract Staffing, Salary Surveys, HR Consulting, etc., in order to better serve their clients.
Tarek M Hossain, Chief Operating Officer of HR Connections returned from Toronto, Canada to lead a team of young and dedicated staff towards reaching the desired goal to make HR Connections a major player in the local HR Service Providers market. Tarek completed his education from the University of Toronto and joined Canada’s largest financial institution and globally the 5th largest Insurance and financial services company, in the field of financial analysis. Soon after he was given a chance to transition to the HR & Admin side. He went thru extensive trainings and mentorship programs to learn the basics of HR practice and after several years of excellent performance, he was promoted to the position of Operations HR Manager. Tarek left the company in late 2005, to return home to take charge of the newly formed HR Connections.
2006 and 2007 saw many successes and challenges for this new company, however, we have been able to curve out a major chunk of the HR Services Industry for ourselves.
Today 80% of HR Connections’ business is centered around our recruitment & head hunting services. Our clients range from Fortune 500 multinationals operating in Bangladesh to sole proprietorship businesses. Placement rate is fairly high compared with the number of candidates placed per vacancy. From a business stand point, our revenue to expense ratio has been ideal for a small company having 7 full time employees. Our employee development program has gone well with especially designed training programs for our recruitment executives. From a technology standpoint, we have developed proprietary HR software that uses exclusive cutting edge technology to maximize recruiting efficiency. Our solutions have automated the administrative processes, the screening of candidates and the management of CVs. During this time clients have put our industry leading evaluation and matching tools to work for them with outstanding results.

Looking into the future, we have aspirations of exploring the international market for Bangladeshi Professionals. We have recently started providing skilled workers to various parts of the Middle East and we are planning a major expansion to this part of the business in the months to come.
